Four decades since...
the privatization of the global water pipelines, the freak weather phenomena that changed the maps, and the dissolution of countries as we know them - and the five companies who own everything have stepped out of hiding. Now known as "Nexus," they are religion, economy, and politics all in one.
The Arid Perimeter
Those who aren't fortunate enough (or who refuse) to live in the tech-savvy cities protected under Nexus' climate-domes take their chances on the abandoned fringes of society. In what was formerly the American Southwest, one such isolated and under-resourced area exists, known only as the Arid Perimeter. A desert wasteland where our modern-day, familiar infrastructure is so dilapidated and rusting, it seems more akin to the Wild West towns of old than any kind of city we'd recognize today. The futuristic and the antiquated clash and merge in this desperate and divided world.
The Rising
The only group working against the corporate overreach is the Rising, one of the last independent strongholds working outside of the Law. This loosely organized group of resistance fighters is forged of those who truly believe in the cause, mercenaries trying to make a quick buck, and, unexpectedly, a Nexus insider.
But some question if this militant group is truly a revolutionary change from the status quo, or just another waste of time in a world where only survival is king.

A secret hiding in plain sight...
When hardened mercenary Ro, takes on a new ‘high stakes' mission, it leads her to the Spring, an outskirts whorehouse, madam’d by sexy mama Maven and her brainy beauties. These women are up to more than sex - the Spring is a passthrough for the Rising. When the mission goes sideways, Ro is beaten and bloodied, and forced to stay with the women as they weave their magic. But when Nexus learns of the true happenings at the Spring, the former loner, the badass brothelites and even some of their patrons, take a no-holds-barred stand against the powers that be.
